Story of Life...

Got to try my steez at chalk art once again. this time at the Del Mar Fair. $15 registry fee includes 2 day free admission, free back lot/exhibitor parking, free water, and free lunch that was actually really good. Originally a competition turned into a presentation due to lack of participants. There were 5 artists ranging from portraiture to comical art. We got to get a cart ride tot he location going underneath the stadium and behind the scenes. Put in around 5 hours of work on friday then returned to put in another 5 hours of work. The surface sucked as not only was it sloped but very porous. The wind from the ocean would blow the chalk dust almost as soon as it was applied. So the vibrancy of the colors were laq luster after 10 minutes. 5 minutes before completion some passerby dropped their drink and the liquid trickled down through the left side of the piece. Overall it was a great experience to spend quality time with the lady who w/out her help this would not be possible. All the kids reactions were precious and almost every other parent noticed that yes, we were using the very same Crayola sidewalk chalk that they have for their kids...
