Break That Rusty Cage...

So the Super 8 camera i got from the swapmeet requires 4 AA batteries to put into the handle and one 1.5v mercury battery. I put 4 relatively new batteries in the handle and happened to have a film cartridge to test to see if this camera is operational. Nothing happened and i was very disappointed. So i remembered that one time my Holga stopped working and i took it apart to look at the insides for lose wires and found nothing. But when i put it back together it worked w/ out me altering anything. So i decided to take the Super 8 apart. I took the side lid off and this is what u see. I saw nothing but 40 year old technology and it smelled like metal and plastics. I had no idea of what to look for. So i put it back together. I then tried to put the batteries in again and this time i actually read the tape msg to put the camera on auto to turn on. I pulled the trigger and voila! There was mechanical chatter. It Works! Now to only get a hold of some film...

Heat Wave. I kinda liked it...

Mmmmm. 5Guys Burgers are soo good...

Last Days...

Busted out the telescope and tried to catch the Harvest Moon. Unfortunately the moon was hidden behind a building during the time it was supposed to be shining orange. Flicked these photos of the moon when it reappeared from behind the building. Just used the point and shoot through the telescope...

With a Little Help From My Friends...

1st time @ Kobes Swap Meet and i LOVED it!!! I was on a mission to seek out a Super 8 camera. I will def be going to the swap meet for when i move out to furnish my place haha...

TVC...

Finally found one. I think it was the only one there. The guy asked for $8. I left then came back and told him id take it for $5 cause i would still have to buy batteries and film and that the film is really expensive. So i found myself w/ a new toy!..Hopefully its still functional and i can find me some 8mm film...

It has electronic zoom/auto focus...

Straight from the motherland of electronics...

Caught this guy on my friends door. Caught him and then put him in the freezer for a min and a half or so. When he thawed out he would put his antenna on the ground and rub off the moisture w/ his front leg...

All I Ever Wanted...

Taiwan!!! Man i Love that island. I have a lot of extra footage to mess w/. Here is all the footage from the dance events i went to and some graff. My cousin teaches old school hip hop w/ a crew called Subway which are deeply connected to another crew Da Rumas. They let me watch them practice at their studios and perform at events. I even got to paint a wall at their studio. So here is the end result. Taiwan like many other Asian countries LOVE hip hop culture. They have a history in dance and it was interesting to hear their take on it from an OG dancer BBoy Aya...

Do Do Do Doo...

Vietnamese Sandwiches hav quickly become a fav frequent meal of mine. Always wished Lees sandwiches would open up a shop down here but other people have taken it into their hands to bring them to SD. Baquette Up Mira Mesa recently opened and is connected to a Boba shop, Bobbalicious. Heres what i had...

Rolled w/ the homey roy and we ordered 2 sandwiches each and swapped halves to try diff ones. Here is the BBQ sandwich w/ and avacado shake. The have seedless jalepenos so beware, not to spicy but has a lil kick...

My fav out of the ones we got. Spam and Egg...Maybe some shredded cheese and tapatio would top this one off nicely...

the Special..i don't know whats in here but its all good...

Time Gone By...

i was gonna take a lot of in progress flicks but got lazy and just wanted to get to work and not bother w/ flicking every other step...But heres the basics. Get a final draft of the drawing, make it into stencils, and build up the piece w/ layers beginning from the background and up...

i was gonna have individual scales but after i made the fill of the body i was really happy w/ how it looked so i left the body alone...

still gotta do a lil more clouds on the bottom of the piece but here it is pretty much done and at the Dope Show @ Bar Basic...

Spirits of the Past...

Unfortunately this is what happens when u leave plastic toy cameras in the trunk of your car. The back melted. It still is able to flick shots, but the MX (multiple exposure) switch is warped shut. Its that white square next to the winder wheel. I don't know yet if i can open it b/c there is still film in there. So we shall see in a couple of months...
