Put this clip together @ work today...i was looking for a cool song to merge w/ it and it took me a while. I came across Bruce Lees Enter the Dragon and thought it fit pretty well..This movie is of my sister @ school in Japan...Japanese schools look like so much fun for kids.

Spit these out kinda quick....think im beating my korean/usugrowish font to death..but if i wanted to take it serious im sure it would be a pretty sick alphbet...

This turned out ugly..u get the idea though..maybe itll look better when i learn how to align on a path to make them look like someone did donuts or turning and then smearing the tire tread like a burn out or something

Beginning to get back into the flow of Ai, still can't remember some of the commands and still have tons and tons of things to learn and discover. In time i suppose. I went overboard w/ the gradients but anyway. I wanted to put some floral flares and or a hemisphere border around it and maybe some flowers but maybe try that out on the next design.

Random Flick of the Week

So along w/ the 8mm movies i have started to scan the reels of slides that we have. There are about 100 slides per reel w/ about 9 reels and it takes like 4-6 minutes to scan 4 slides at a time. It took me almost 3hrs to scan in the 1st reel. There are some really great pics from back when we lived in Japan. Thinking of maybe mixing them in w/ the 8mm movies and making a lil mini family movie or whatever.

I missed a couple of weeks for my Random Flick of the week, so here i give u two. 1st up is actually from the 1st reel of slides and was in some science center in Japan

Nika what?...Nika Who?

So i was driving through PB w/ a homie to meet up w/ another. When a box truck driving the opposing direction passes us w/ some colorful advertisements on its sides. Noticing anything artful that we pass we look at the truck and see........A bottle of water w/ an African girl on the label, and the name of the brand is........ Nika?. We both had a second of processing and we look @ each other. My friend then starts to laugh hysterically and i laugh along in disbelief. I wish i could have gotten a picture of it but was driving and it happened so fast. So i looked it up and this is what i found.

Now w/ further research i discover that it is an eco friendly bottled watering company that is driven to be pro active in providing awareness and helping to provide clean water to those who do not have access to it. They claim to donate 100% of their profits to support clean water projects in impoverished countries. And it seems to have stemmed right out of San Diego. It seems to be a very good thing and for a good cause....but i don't know if i can ever get over the name w/ the image on the label. Im sure im saying it incorrectly or am immature in my thinking...but i know im not the only one...I guess it is pronounced..Nee-ka...But still...Peep the site

Put some hawt sauce on my burrito babeh

Los Primos offers a monster burrito, and I have ordered it b4 but usually it is just a regular cali burrito w/ guacamole, sour cream and pico and is double wrapped. But for some reason this time when i ordered it it was the biggest freaking burrito i've ever seen. 14 inches, i measured it. Why id didn't take the pic w/ the ruler next to it i don't know, i'm dumb like that. But i DID finish it, and felt sick afterward. I was full for two days haha

Koirean

So i spent another night w/ illustrator. I put this Korean flag design together a little bit ago and wanted to get some lettering to put along w/ it. But i wanted it to kinda resemble kanji or even Korean characters. So i thought i did well w/ the letters in the short amount of time i drew them up. There's soo much i want to do, i have so many ideas and so many ambitions, but only realistically act upon a very very small percentage of them. I wonder how much were on the minds of the Greats. I guess that is one of the many things that separates the Greats from people like myself. I bet they have x amount more ideas than i have running through their heads and they also act upon them more. But at least i have ideas reserved for rainy days. I'd rather be like that than not be creating at all.

I really like the letters vertically positioned and envision  them on a black shirt w/ some fighting baby blue color...but also think that the general public wouldn't think to read the letters sideways

Californication

So ive had this design sketched out for a while and now i finally got around to vectoring it. Now if only i can find out how to stamp it onto an animated flag. I wanted to finish my sketchbook this year w/ more new sketches but i haven't sketched any more of these animal designs in months. After finishing this up it makes me want to continue to create more stylized animals. Hopefully i can get back into that.

I found out how to operate the 8mm projector! I think that if i were to outsource the film to be digitalized it would be ridiculously pricey. So i decided to just project them onto a foam board and record them w/ my Flipcam. Ghetto and cheap but sufficient and efficient.

Here is a lil clip of my sisters birthday in Japan. Leave it to my dad to use trick candles. I will be uploading more movies and probably be adding music to them cause it can get a lil boring w/out sound. I might do something w/ them all including the scanned slide pictures in the future but until then keep ur eye out for some crazy old footage

What was Old is Now New

Seing all the picture albums and keepsakes @ my Grandmas inspired me to rummage through my families own stuff. So this is what I found. I knew we had a bunch of slides cause my dad always wanted to watch them but i never did as a child. Now w/ my film scanner im thinking of scanning all the slides and checking them out. I also found a box full of old 8mm film reels along w/ the projector. I took it out and fooled around w/ it and played one reel. It was a trip to see it ill post some up later when i get them onto the comp. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my dad kept the actual 8mm camera that he filmed the movies on so that i can mess around w/ it. Granted it still operates and i can get a hold of 8mm film?

I also found some old pics of my mom, a small Taiwan flag that is now hanging up in my room, my parents wedding pictures, and these Taiwan flag stickers. I love stickers!

This huge ass bug flew into the office @ work last night...I've encountered this type of bug b4 @ my work a while back. Its a huge really strong bug that flys and has fur..Anyway froze it for a little bit so i could take pics

Summer Days

Finally developed pics from my holga...everytime i get a roll developed i fall in love w/ that camera all over again and again..Below is belly flop contest. i shouldve done a multiple exposure to get the person from starting to end in one photo, and i forgot that i had my video camera on me and it wouldve been gold to have recorded the belly flop contest

I was in charge of the keg for the better half of the day...not a bad days of work

So i put this lil slide show together w/ the few photos i took of the time we were in iowa...I wasn't planning on doing something like this and would like to think that if i was then i would have taken more pics...i wish i couldve customized it more..i think if i were to use imovie rather than iphoto i could have..next time i guess
