We're Awesome...
I'm working on a series of Koi fish for some prints. I decided to show the progress of the making of one. This video shows the development from sketch to vector graphics through illustrator. I thought it was going to be a quick basic Koi fish just to show the whole process. But from the beginning of the vectoring process i felt i couldn't go half assed. This design is made up of 1,012 paths.

Time Slips Like a Banana Peel...
Can't believe it has been 4 years since the beginnings of THE Dope Show. I've had a lot of great times w/ these people i have met and the greatest reward is to be able to see the progression a lot of them have made. Local artist Shay Davis premiered his documentary last friday entitled Shayvision. Before the debut though there were also other short films featured. The Dope Show was asked to submit any vids/flicks to make a video out of. I submitted a measly 3 clips and should have submitted a lot more cause i have a grip of video but was holding out to save them for another project. Anyway the following is what they were able to come up w/. Its a fast paced conglomeration of random videos from past shows. I think its pretty well done for the amount of time they had to edit which was not much. Enjoy, Four Years in Four Minutes...

Time Gone By...
i was gonna take a lot of in progress flicks but got lazy and just wanted to get to work and not bother w/ flicking every other step...But heres the basics. Get a final draft of the drawing, make it into stencils, and build up the piece w/ layers beginning from the background and up...
i was gonna have individual scales but after i made the fill of the body i was really happy w/ how it looked so i left the body alone...

Future Nostalgia...
So i got a chance to paint a commissioned piece through the homie. It was a garage wall that they are turning into a Cross Fit Gym. Its pretty hard core they were digging up their backyard to install pull up bars. They had pull up bars hanging from the ceiling in the garage and had a lot of equipment coming in. I was apprehensive @ 1st w/ this piece b/c it was the words Cross Fit and i dont paint those letters ever let alone together. Also, i wanted to try the traditional sunset fill and i have never done that b4. I wanted to put silhouettes of the gym leaders above the piece but i made the letters too big. Over all it turned out pretty good and i am very happy w/ the result. So here is the vid of the process and end result...
