Joey's Room

So i was given the opportunity to paint Joey's room. I came up w/ a sketch using a koi character ive had sketched out but never painted b4. I then wanted to have the Filipino sun w/ some palm tree silhouettes in front of it. I also wanted to put the ohm symbol on the sun but halfway through decided against it. And for the border i wanted to try a Celtic border b/c he is half Irish and half Filipino. The Celtic border was out of the question b/c of its intricacies and i didnt want to spend the time for that. So i opted for a tribalish border. This was the 1st time ive seriously tried to blend colors. Why i chose joeys room to experiement w/ is beyond me. But i am glad to see it turned out halfway decent. I usually go flat colors so i can cut back and make micro details clean cut. But this time i blended the sky/ocean and fins of the koi. Antoinette hooked it up w/ some super detailed palm tree tops to use as stencils and donna hooked it up with a star that i didnt end up using. But she also did bake some really good cookies!

maybe 8 hrs total spread out of 3 days. Hope Joey Likes it
